How can I install an older version of Firefox on my Linux computer?
I’m am COMPLETELY new to this Linux thing so I really don’t have much of a clue what I’m doing. I’m running OpenSUSE, I think version 10. I currently have Firefox 3 Beta 5, which sucks – the only reason I have it is because it came preinstalled. I prefer the latest updated version of Firefox 2. How do I get it?
I’m not switching to XP or any other type of OS. I will update my OpenSUSE to 11 later, but I have no spare dvds to use. Is there a way you can install Linux without burning to a dvd?
Yo, when I first got Ubuntu it had a beta version of Firefox 3. It was really annoying. However, Firefox 3 is no longer in beta. You can upgrade to the Release version of Firefox 3. Its really amazing–much sleeker and faster than Firefox 2. You definitely want 3.
Probably the best way would be to go into Firefox itself and under the Help menu click on “Check for Updates…” and just follow what it tells you to to. Mozilla will detect your OS fine and give you the best way to install it.
