Installing Osx On Pc

I've seen people who have OSX installed on PCs with Intel processors. Does it work even with AMD?
I have a unused full OSX installation CD that I would like to put on my desktop PC recently retired. The only problem I see is drivers and compatibility with AMD processors to Intel. I saw many people with PC's running OSX but they all had Intel processors. All ideas, thoughts, or links you'd like to share would be great! Thank you. Ben M.
