photo editing thing?

I am waiting to get photoshop later, because it costs a lot of money. but I was wondering if you know all any good (almost professional) photo editing programs I can download to my computer virus-free and without having to pay. I already Picasa (Google) and Microsoft Picture Manager, and of course the painting that I gave up the fourth year to edit some things the pictures haha. Help please? thank you!

Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 … as $ 70 … works fine … I have two photoshop and Corel, and it does almost everything Photoshop can, some prefer it because its easier …. and yes I got GIMP …. it really is "most" does of the substance, but its really hard to work with, the size of brushes are limited and it really just takes too long and not even the good results … another Picasa 2 is free from Google …. good works, no brushes or layering methods but it has some good things .. I hope I helped
